DC showcased its newest car DC TCA at the Auto Expo 2018. The TCA priced at Rs. 45 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will officially go on sale in October 2018 and the car is a limited edition model. There will be only 299 units made and each will be personally signed by the creator Dilip Chhabria himself. The name TCA is an abbreviation of the materials used in its construction – Titanium, Carbon and Aluminium, all of which are quite premium materials which associated with performance cars.
It definitely looks a lot more premium than the DC Avanti and a site even closer to the ground. The Avanti has had its share of success and with the TCA, DC takes things to a new level. The design of the DC TCA takes inspiration from the Ferrari La Ferrari and the Pagani Zonda (that’s especially visible at the front). It is mid-engined car and sees the use of carbon fibre too but not extensively. It gets a new 3.8 litre V6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and is good for 320 PS which is same step seen in Avanti.
DC has also put in a lot of effort to make the aggressive look of TCA and from the looks of the car seen at the show, They seem to have succeeded. It looks uparked, is laden with tech still maintains an air of sportiness. Even the side profile is quite attractive with a large air intake at the lower rear corner of the door, just in front of the rear wheel. DC claims that the TCA can complete the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 5.5 seconds, so performance should be fairly brisk.
DC claims that it will be lighter than the 1,562 kg heavy Avanti. This is possible with the use of Titanium in the chassis components and carbon and aluminium in the body panels. The car on display was rolling on 20-inch rims, but DC tells that the production model will get a 21-inch set. In the car, Airbags and ABS will also features a standard. For interior, DC says that it will be much more luxurious than the Avanti’s interior. By all these things, TCA looks no. 1 car at the Auto Expo 2018.
